BIG3 To Host Quarantined 3-On-3 Tournament During Nationwide Hiatus

The tournament will feature only players who have tested negative for COVID-19 and they will continue to be monitored off the court. The BIG3 tournament, hosted by none other than Ice Cube, is an attempt to keep fans entertained while the rest of the sports world is on a temporary shutdown.

Ice Cube is taking every precaution in light of the corona virus outbreak. The 16-22 players who have signed up for the tournament are sequestered in a Los Angeles home provided by the league with a basketball facility on the property untli further notice so there is no risk of possible exposure.

"As long as we can protect the players, which we will do through proper testing and quarantine, Ice Cube and I feel we can give fans some safe, entertaining brand of basketball to get everyone through this pandemic," BIG3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz said. "Cube and I have been in the entertainment business for 30 years. This is our job. People want to be entertained with all we're going through and enjoy our sports. We think this will help."

The tournament is also going to feature a reality-show style look at each player's life, since there are enough players to readily be covered without overwhelming the content.

BIG3's fourth season is scheduled to begin in June in Memphis, and there has yet to be any mention of postponing games.
