'Broadway Gives Back Podcast' Launches With Guest Stars of the Stage

Jan Friedlander Svendsen is giving back to the community that has supported her for several years. The star famously was engaged to Glenn Weiss on live television during the 2018 Emmys and is now teaming up with Broadway Podcast Network to launch a new series focused on philanthropy. As the head of the Charity Network, Broadway Gives Back features conversations with entertainers. These conversations focus of social issues, celebrity responsibility, and specific causes they support.

"The feel-good podcast will also showcase ways ‘everyday philanthropists’ can do good through education and taking action," said a press release for the new show. In the first season, listeners can expect to hear from guests like Judith Light, Gloria & Emilio Estefan, Luis & Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tony winner Gavin Creel, Tom Viola, Danny Whitman, and Dan Pallotta.

As a lifelong proponent for charity, show host Friedlander is anxious and excited to get her new series into the ears of the public.

"I learned everything about giving back and trying to be a philanthropic person from my mom," says Friedlander Svendsen. "She was a Holocaust survivor who spread unconditional love to everyone she met."

Before she worked with Charity Network, Friedlander spent nearly two decades working on Broadway with different shows and stars. She worked in marketing and philanthropic programming for the Broadway League and the Tony Awards. The podcast will be available everywhere podcasts are readily heard.
