Let's be clear: celebrities don't always have to be "on" for our entertainment. There are times when they have very human reactions and don't handle themselves well.
Still, you may be pretty surprised at just how badly these celebs have acted...
Amy Schumer
Being a celebrity has its downfalls, especially if you want to be a normal human in public. Even just going out for a walk will ward you some attention! Another misconception that people have about celebrities is that they're always "on" and down for anything... That's just not the case! Amy Schumer had something to say about that when she had an uncomfortable encounter with a fan...
No Photos
In Greenville, South Carolina, a fan ran up on Schumer while recording to get her in the video with him. Schumer was not happy to have been "scared" by the fan and blasted them on her Instagram for acting inappropriately, even after she told him to stop. "No more photos," she said.
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence was dubbed as a quirky girl-next-door with her awkward comments and clumsy mishaps. It's easy to relate to her on-screen, but off-screen? Not so much.
Stay Away
According to fans who have seen her out and about, she's intentionally rude to them to keep them away from her. It makes sense for someone to want their privacy, but this can really dampen the spirits of doting fans who want nothing more than to meet their Hunger Games icon!
Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz has had a colorful and eventful career. She worked on The Mask, Charlie's Angels, and even Shrek as the voice of Princess Fiona. She's basically a household name! A lot of people adore her, but that seems to be the problem...
No Autographs
Even though Diaz might love her fans, she won't give them things that they asked for. That means no photos and no autographs. Her reasoning? If she has do so something for one person, then she has to do it for everyone. Well, that sort of makes sense!
Jon Hamm
Jon Hamm was supposed to be America's Sweetheart, right? Not to Kathy Griffin! The comedian herself has had some failures as a human in the public eye, but that doesn't mean she can't out other celebrities for theirs.
You're Old
Apparently, Hamm and Griffin were at the same party one night. The two crossed paths and Hamm had asked Griffin why she was there before telling her that her, "Emmy isn't a real Emmy." Later, he interrupted a conversation with her and Jack Nicholson to call her old. What's eatin' you, Hamm?
Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell is known for his hilarious antics and quick-witted humor. After all, most of his movies are deeply rooted in harsh comedy that isn't everyone's cup of tea. The Funny Or Die co-founder isn't exactly one to regard someone's feelings...
The Butt of the Joke
Apparently, Ferrell's sense of humor doesn't have an off button... no matter who he's around. Some fans have said that Ferrell made some pretty harsh jokes toward their personality or appereance after asking for an autograph. Even if you're a fan of Ferrell and his humor, some jokes are just plain mean!
Mike Myers
Mike Myers has an era of movies under his belt. From Austin Powers to Wayne's World, his older work is still being talked about. He was a powerhouse when he was still acting, but his silly demeanor didn't mean he wasn't a bit of a diva...
Diva on Set
The people who worked with him on set remember him being quite the diva. He had a list of daily on-set demands to make sure that his time was being utilized perfectly. Some workers even said that he made them put a tent over his trailer so that no one could tell when he was entering or leaving.
Michael Jordan
The basketball legend has been a hero to hundreds of thousands of people from every walk of life. One of these kids was Chamillionaire, the rapper, who ended up meeting his idol one night and wanted a picture...
Cough Up the Money
Asking your idol to take a photo isn't necessarily a bad thing, but some celebrities are sick of it... Michael Jordan being one. When Chamillionaire asked for a photo, Jordan said that he would take one for $15,000. Yikes.
Pierce Brosnan
According to one comedian, Agent 007 can be kind of rude sometimes! James Cordon recounted a sad experience with actor Pierce Brosnan to Khloe Kardashian on "The Late Late Show" in 2017.
Get Out of the Way!
Apparently, Cordon and Brosnan were at the same exact U2 concert. Cordon admitted that he was a bit starstruck at first, but then Brosnan shoved past him in the crowd. Woof! How about that for a reason to never meet your idols?
Dan Akyroyd
Saturday Night Live and Ghostbusters star Dan Akyroyd knows how to be a celebrity. He's been in the spotlight for decades with a good amount of Academy Award nominations under his belt. That also means that he knows how to act in public...
Bodyguards Galore
Being in the spotlight for so long is bound to come with some safety issues. So, Akyroyd makes sure to bring his bodyguards with him wherever he goes. Apparently, they're pretty terrifying! Other people have said that he's rude to wait staff, and let's be honest, that's probably most celebrities.
Rachael Ray
Rachael Ray is one of the biggest daytime talk show hosts out there. She cooks some great food and has hilarious banter with her celebrity guests. Things can get stressful in the kitchen, though, that's for sure...
If You Have Nothing Nice to Say...
Apparently, Ray can get a bit brutal sometimes. At one point, she allegedly told a member of her staff, "I need stupid people to not talk to me." That's not the sweet Rachael Ray that we know!
Mariah Carey
Okay, it's no secret that Mariah Carey can be a bit of a drama queen. She's one of the biggest diva's out there! So it should come as no surprise that she can be difficult to work with...
The Good Morning America Performance
One thing really set her fans off, though. During a performance on Good Morning America, Carey snarkily told a backup singer to stop "covering up" her lines. A lot of people assumed it was because she didn't want anyone else to take her spotlight...
Orlando Bloom
Orlando Bloom always seemed like a pretty chill guy. He was nice in interviews and always had something fun to say on the red carpet. Fans were shocked to see an outburst from him...
No Recording!
In 2018, he was performing in a play when he stopped the performance completely to yell at an audience member. He noticed someone sitting with a tablet in their hands, and assumed they were recording. He yelled at her to put the tablet away. When she didn't, he stormed off stage. According to the woman, and those around her, she had been using the tablet to block an air duct that was blowing cold air on her.
Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore is best known for her roles on This Is Us and Tangled, as well as her sweet demeanor and fun social presence. Things got a little sticky when someone spoke up about a rough encounter with her, though...

Apparently, she had bumped into someone while grocery shopping. The person she bumped into dropped all of his groceries. Instead of helping pick them up, she stood there and complained that he was wasting her time. That's a bit odd!

Kate Winslet
The Titanic star has a loving fanbase who supports her at every step of her career. When she was filming parts of Labor Day in Massachusetts, her fans flocked to meet her and hopefully get a photo. They were severely disappointed...
Not Even a Word
One day during filming, fans eagerly awaited for their idol to arrive on set. It was rainy and cold, but they didn't care. Finally, hours after they arrived, Winslet got out of her car to enter the closed filming area. The fans reported that she didn't even look their way. Talk about a bummer!
Jamie Foxx
Jamie Foxx is one of the greatest actors out there. He wowed fans in Collateral and Ray while snagging a win at the Academy Awards. Unfortunately, all of his success means that more eyes are on him than normal...
Storming Out
Foxx is usually very put together while on camera, but he has had some sour moments! Apparently, he stormed out of an interview after someone brought up his relationship with Katie Holmes. Even though it's unprofessional to walk out of an interview, that's quite an invasive question!
Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock's talent knows no bounds. She's funny, she's serious, she's smart... What else is better than that? She's been in huge blockbuster hits like Miss Congeniality, The Blind Side, and Bird Box. Bullock is usually portrayed as down-to-earth, but that's not always the case...
Learn your Boundaries
Bullock is well-known for refusing autographs and even covering up her face when a fan wants a photograph. One time, she rejected a fan in a wheelchair, which the media naturally ran with. Celebrities don't always have to be on!
Adam Levine
A lot of people have mixed feelings about Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine. He was also one of the main judges for The Voice for years, and his friendship with Blake Shelton was hilarious and adorable. That doesn't mean he's always sweet...
A Bit Shallow
It's not a secret that Levine is a bit shallow. He also has a desire for attention that he's admitted has burned some bridges. Apparently, he has a secret rule of not giving out his autograph to anyone he doesn't consider attractive, meanwhile, his wife is a supermodel. What are his limits?
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood is best known for her winning stint on American Idol back in 2005. Since then, she's become a country sensation. Her sweet voice and perky demeanor might just be for show, though...
Admittedly Selfish
Everybody has their flaws, and it takes a big person to talk about them! Underwood has admitted that she can be quite selfish at times. She sometimes finds herself regretting not thanking people after interviews, or feeling guilty about telling presenters not to "mess up" her entrance when she appears on TV. At least she's working on it!
Ashton Kutcher
That 70s Show star and philanthropist, Ashton Kutcher, has made a wonderful example out of himself. He's not one for the big, flashy celebrity life and dedicates a lot of his time to helping underprivileged children. Apparently, though, Kathy Griffin had a bit of a problem with him when they were working together...
Big Snubs
According to Griffin in one of her books, she and Kutcher were hired as hosts together. Apparently, Kutcher wasn't keen on listening to her and working with her. He snubbed her at every chance he got... He even interrupted an important conversation between Griffin and P. Diddy! Now, Kutcher hasn't refuted this story or anything, but it's still a bit odd for Griffin to come out and say such things.
Neil deGrasse Tyson
Neil deGrasse Tyson is a different type of celebrity. He got his claim to fame through spilling some crazy facts about the universe. He built up a dedicated fanbase across the nation and helped get kids into science and space! Although Tyson is grateful for his fans, his time comes at a costly price...
Pay Up
Apparently, a club appearance for Tyson is upwards of $85,000 for a couple of hours. Many venues have agreed to pay his fee so he can talk about space for a bit, but a lot of fans see that as selling out. To each their own!

Mocking a Teenager
Rihanna used to be a force to be reckoned with on social media. She was known for her clapbacks and silly attitude. Things took a turn when she made fun of a fan who tried to recreate one of her looks for prom. The 16-year-old was definitely not expecting her idol to mock her...
Chevy Chase
Chevy Chase has a bit of a notorious connotation to his name in Hollywood. He's hard to work with, and his alcohol problem can make time on set unbearable. His face still graces TV screens across America around Christmas time, and his time on Community is especially notable.
Bitter Old Man
As he's gotten older, he's also gotten harder to work with. Many of his costars believe him to be a bitter old man. He would make working with him difficult by belittling his costars. He would even try to pick out their flaws and bring them up at every chance he got.
Christian Bale
At this point, it's been known that Christian Bale has an anger issue. Before his expletive outburst in 2009, he was pretty much only known as a tough guy. His roles in Batman and American Psycho definitely paved the way for his career.
Outbursts
After that 2009 video surfaced, he apologized profusely. Apparently, he also shouted at young fans and made them cry. His career tanked quite a bit after this fiasco.
Ariana Grande
The Nickelodeon star turned pop star has had her fair share of controversies. Remember that one time she licked a donut then put it back? Yeah, not cute. There's also something else that some fans couldn't turn a blind eye to...
Uncaring Towards Fans
A lot of fans had a problem with one of her meet and greets in 2013. Apparently, the singer only spent around 15 seconds with some competition winners before heading back to her green room. Her team cited it as a "safety hazard" but the fans involved said that she just didn't want to be there. That's pretty hurtful!
Christina Aguilera
Xtina is best known for her crazy incredible voice. She's been in the spotlight since she was a young girl, so it makes sense that she probably doesn't remember the time before she was famous, and apparently, she acts like it, too.
I'm a Celebrity!
Aguilera allegedly closed an entire store just so she could shop there, which is normal for very famous celebs, however, that also made the staff on the clock stay out of the store as well, so she wouldn't be "bothered." That's quite the wrong attitude to have!
Justin Bieber
The Canadian pop star is not a stranger to controversy. Even though he has millions of adoring fans who idolize him, he wasn't always the nicest person to them. When he was much younger, he had a bit of a rebellious streak that really hurt his reputation.
Going Crazy
Bieber used to be the talk of Hollywood. He was found very guilty of spitting off of balconies and onto fans, peeing on restaurant buckets, and even stopping his shows to yell at audience members who didn't stop talking. He had a short fuse, and many people attributed it to the fact that he got famous so young. He seems to be doing better now that he's happily married and had a good, long hiatus from music.
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Honestly, Catherine Zeta-Jones doesn't really have much of a personality off-screen. We don't know much about her personal life except through interviews. You wouldn't think she was a nasty person, but according to some fans, she can be...
Pretty Enough
Zeta-Jones can be a bit of a bully. According to some witnesses, she once told an eight-year-old fan who wanted to be an actress that she was "pretty enough, I suppose" for the career. Yikes! It's not all about looks, but Zeta-Jones is from a different time.
Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts seems sweet enough. She has a bubbly personality and is basically a rom-com icon. She's had her downfalls, though.
Harsh Words
Roberts lost a sister to suicide. In her sister's note, she said that she felt bullied and belittled by her celebrity sister. Some people have lost their adoration for her after she reportedly stopped people from worshipping in a temple so she could film Eat Pray Love on her own schedule.
Eric Roberts
Apparently, Eric Roberts isn't the only Roberts who has a problem with the limelight. He's got a different attitude towards his fans and "non-celebrities." His actions have made him the black sheep of the family...
Give Me Money
Despite being so well off that he's basically set for life, Roberts expects his fans to pay for his attention. Literally. If they want an autograph, that'll be $50! Hopefully, no one actually played into that...
Hilary Duff
Lizzie McGuire fans grew up with Hilary Duff and her valuable life lessons. The Disney show helped curate her entire career, including a popular music career with some bops. She was basically America's teen dream. Naturally, she wasn't perfect...
Bad Mouther
Apparently, Duff is known for having a bit of a sharp tongue. She gossips about other celebrities like crazy to anyone who would listen. She's had problems with Chris Brown, Karrueche Tran, and Faye Dunaway because of her mouth! She basically called Faye Dunaway old-looking after the actress commented on Duff's acting ability. That's a low blow for sure.
Iggy Azalea
The Aussie star is known for having a thick skin. She's had a lot of hate in her career and a lot of beef between other artists. She's also known for participating in social media fights among randoms, which is just super odd. A lot of people seem to have beef with her...
Butting Heads With Everyone
Nowadays, she's pretty quiet. This is mainly because she butt heads with pretty much everyone on social media. She's had fights with Zayn Milk, RuPaul, and Azealia Banks (which isn't hard to do, honestly.) She lost a lot of support because of her rude ways.
Lindsey Lohan
Lohan used to have a pretty decorated career. She was the star in Mean Girls, The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen... She was all that and more! Unfortunately, she went downhill pretty quickly...
Leaving Acting
Lohan was basically forced to quit acting due to her bad habits. She was always late to set, difficult to work with, and addicted to drugs and alcohol. She seems to have turned herself around in Dubai, though!
