Uruguayan Flight 571, 1972
Flight 571 crashed into the Andes Mountains on October 13th, 1972. Out of the 45 passengers on board, 28 of them survived the initial crash. After 72 days on the glacier, sixteen people were rescued, having survived through cannibalism.

The famed rockstar was battling cancer at the time of his death. This is the last known photo of the singer, who is in good spirits and looking great. He died two days after his 69th birthday and release of his final album, Blackstar, where many songs were veiled about his illness and death.
