Chrissy Teigen Travels To DC For Inauguration Despite Lockdown State

Chrissy Teigen responds to some backlash about her and John Legend's plans to take a jet to Washington D.C. for Joe Biden's inauguration. The city is under a lockdown in order to ensure the safest change of power as possible, as well as advanced COVID restrictions, but people are accusing Teigen of flouting the rules. "This is not my fault but I'm sorry you're frustrated," Teigen replied to fans complaints on Twitter.

Her husband John Legend is, however, listed as a performer at the inauguration along with Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga. So it's not like she's going just to go. But after the Capital siege, COVID restrictions, and a heightened military state, D.C. is not exactly an accessible place right now, even for its residents.

Another fan posted, "Why couldn't [John] do a virtual performance and also why does his whole family have to go when literally no one can move about the city?" She emphasized the fact that the event is all based on privilege and minimizes what "D.C. is all about." Teigen, always ready to fire back, did indeed reply. "Why are you guys always always mad at me," she wrote in a quote tweet. "All I wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference." If it's any consolation, Legend's performance was supposed to be a surprise and Teigen actually got in trouble for posting about it. So that's that.
