Boating is one of the most relaxing pastimes. A nice day on the water can really rejuvenate a person... except when their boat ends up completely underwater because they wanted to see how fast they could go and ended up on a Getty.

Post-Hurricane Adventure
When the power is out and your phone is out of juice, sometimes the best form of entertainment is doing something a bit unusual. This person decided to take advantage of the flooding streets for some kayaking practice!
Bad Idea From Start to Finish
Technically, this is one way to get into the lake... It's only useful if you were also planning on heading into the lake. I can see her thought process, though, and honestly, props to her for committing.
Trucks Can't Float
This is an example of the age-old question: "How do you get the boat into the water?" It's confusing, sure. A true condundrum. Sadly, this truck owner did not solve the puzzle correctly and ended up sinking his truck. Nice try, maybe next time.
Runaway Boat
How could someone remedy this situation? A runaway speedboat seems like the worst-case scenario... It's basically a waiting game of how long it'll take to crash it. There's no jumping back on, that's for sure.
Get Past the Crash Zone!
It's important to get out past the breakers when taking a boat out... That is quite literally because you will crash your boat. If you look closely, you can see that some of the boat ended up breaking between the ocean floor and the wave. Ouch.
SOS!
This couple opted for the paddle boat because they thought that they had less of a chance of falling off... Well, that was not the case. They took on a bit of water, overreacted, and flipped!
Goodbye, Family
They were so close, just a few more feet and they would have been golden... Instead, they were thrust into the swampy river. Hopefully, it wasn't too cold for an unplanned dip!
Too Much Too Soon
There was a little too much inertia with this one... This guy was basically a goner once the nose of the kayak went under. At least it made for a funny gif!
What Went Wrong?
At first, this was a standard ship drop. It landed in the water but there was just a bit too much force behind the drop. Easy does it, pal—that's an expensive boat to have to replace...

Now, this is not a correct ship drop. It looked like they were trying to lower the ship in by forcing it backward... This photo is exactly the reason why you can't do that.

Wait... not that many! The wind must have taken over the front end of the speed boat which caused this massive crash. Luckily, no one was injured!

The stereotype of speedboat drivers really stays true with this photo... This guy thought he could clear this little yacht. Nope! He was just lucky he didn't hurt anybody.

This might not have been the best spot to park your boat... At least it's safe there, though. No one could possibly try and steal it.
Moments Before Disaster
Could you guess that he didn't make it? There is no way that this guy could have stretched that much with such a heavy cooler and not land in the water. Oh, and the boat was actively drifting away.

He almost landed it... Almost. Someone must have found it so funny that they made this pretty depressing gif of it. Now, this man's failed accidental flip will forever live in infamy on the Internet.

It might seem like an innocent banana boat, but apparently its way more dangerous than one might think. Hitting bumps on the water can be back-breaking. Unfortunately, no one told that kid to hang on tight...
There's a Pole There
Somehow this guy managed to slam into the only pole in the entire lake. Yes, he completely totaled the boat. Yes, he is alright. No, he is not allowed to drive a boat ever again.
This person was a bit hesitant to jump off of the boat, so they opted to slide off and give himself the world's biggest wedgie. Next time, man, just jump!

The woman in the red bikini didn't realize that the rope she was pulling on would lead to a man overboard. Then again, you should always be looking at where you're walking on a boat! This was bound to happen...
The Moment Before Impact
At first, this photo looks pretty normal, until you realize that they are about to make a crash landing on some nice, solid sand. That landing must have hurt their necks... and backs... and bodies... and boat... Someone better make sure to have EMTs at the ready.

The cleanup after this accident must have been awful. A cargo ship toppled over after they loaded it up with huge shipping containers. Obviously, they went past the ship's limit and suffered the consequences...

A few things went wrong during this speedboat joyride and they ended up right smack in the middle of a dock. Not only is that pretty embarrassing, but it also looks costly!
Directions Were Unclear
When you said to put the boat in the water, you also meant under it, right? In reality, this little boat probably took on some water overnight and ended up meeting its watery grave below... That's definitely a bummer.

It's true; most people get a boat so they can take a mini-vacation away from society and out onto the open water. You're not supposed to have worries while you're relaxing on a boat! Too bad this boat actually became a huge worry.

Some folks really love those fast boats. Hopping over huge rifts in the water can be fun, too. Falling out of your boat and landing into the water mid-barrel-roll is probably not fun.

These Olympians had to hop off of their vessel when it capsized during a competition. It's not the result they were hoping for, but they did their best!

Sometimes, you forget where you parked your boat. Luckily, this docking station had numbered poles! This person parked at three. It's also easily memorable because they are the only boat that smashed into the pole.
