Costumes That Take Cosplay To The Next Level

Prepare to be shocked and amazed by the sheer effort that these individuals put into their cosplays!

Ezra Miller

What can’t Ezra Miller do?? Seriously, this guy is a man of many talents, and clearly building a hilarious and good costume is one of them.

Rachel

Although this model was never named, her rendition of Rachel from Bladerunner was absolutely legendary. The only problem, they’re not going to let her smoke indoors like in the movie.

Alien and Predator

Shouldn’t these guys be fighting? Regardless, these costumes are so intensely detail-oriented, you’d think a costume artist designed them.

Reptile

For those who’ve played Soul Caliber 3, you know exactly whats’s going on. This costume isn’t complete without his red hot swords, but they probably didn’t get through the security check.

Goku and Vegeta

These costumes are a deep cut from Dragonball Z. These guys are in Super Saiyan 4, and they absolutely went Super Saiyan on the budget when they were putting these together.

The Black Knight

Tis merely a flesh wound! Seriously, this person really went out of their way to make a legendary cosplay with their disability. Thankfully, Comic-Con is completely wheelchair accessible!

Tweety Bird’s Owner

Tweety Bird’s owner, also known as Granny Looney, would be so proud of this cosplay. So much detail and personality were pumped into this one. You should feel good about yourself grandma!!

Horizon Zero Dawn

For those who know, this character is named Aloy. This cosplayer absolutely nailed this character, 100%. This costume should make you want to play the game all over again!

Okoye

For those who don’t know about Black Panther, you should really do yourself a favor and go watch it right now. This person killed this look, they really look like a warrior from Wakanda!

Radioactive Man and Fallout Boy (Girl)

This is a deep cut from the Simpsons universe. The creative team at Marvel actually liked this character dynamic so much that they made their own adaptation in comics.

Albus Dumbledore

This costume just granted Gryffindor 10 points! And we grand this costume an Inside Mystery rating of 100 points for attention to detail.

Buzz Lightyear

To infinity and beyond! This costume is so accurate to the movie it’s scary. How many times does someone have to watch Toy Story to make a costume this detailed?

The Joker (Dark Knight)

Everybody remembers this scene from the Dark Knight, it was probably Heath Ledger’s greatest performance yet. Chances are, there are no explosives in that bag.

Joker and Penguin

Batman Begins was a flop in theaters but it was a hit in the hearts of these two cosplayers. The character designs from the movies were met picture perfectly in these two costumes.

The Mad Hatter

Wow! Look at the detail in that wheelchair. This cosplayer even worked their Comic-Con pass into their costume. Fantastic Job!

Phoenix (The Dog)

The pups of Comic-Con deserve love just as much as the human cosplayers. We give this X-Men universe cosplay two paws up!

Groot

Can you believe the amount of time that went into this costume? The attention to detail is outstanding, this must have cost an absolute fortune to make. Beautifully done!

Bumblebee

Transformers 1 is still the best movie in the franchise, if you don’t think so, watch it again. This person crushed their costume idea. Additionally, posing next to an actual yellow Chamero is an unmistakable flex.

Leela

I never thought I’d see an eye placed in the middle of someone’s forehead look so convincing. This Leela cosplayer is about to kick the cameraman all the way onto the Planet Express.

Jesse Pinkman, and Aaron Paul

Can you believe how cute this is? Aaron Paul dressed his own infant son up like him in the show! Awww. 10/10 costume guys!

Batman Dragging Superman

Although this never would have happened in actual canon for either of these superheroes, these costumes are very cute and well done.

Stan Lee and… Himself!

Now, this is heartwarming. This photo was taken right before Stan Lee passed away, and this costume brings tears to the eyes of fans all around the world.

Dear God…

We strongly advise this guy to go home and change into a costume that doesn’t make everyone around him terribly anxious.

Lego Batman

We’re not even sure that there is a person in there, but if they were going for Lego Batman in the Lego movie, they nailed it.

The Night King

Please do yourself a favor and watch Game of Thrones if you haven’t yet. Chances are that you’ll be more impressed by this costume if you know the show.

The Mummy

We have never seen a woman cosplay this character, but she got this absolutely spot-on perfect.

Turboman

This long-forgotten hero doesn’t seem too lost and forgotten now. Look! He even has an action figure of himself.

Mystique

Half-human, half-mutant, all perfect costume design. This person’s ability to make something this cool is mind-boggling.

Widowmaker

She can see through walls, and she even got the poison-spider down pat. This cosplayer is one of a special breed.

Wonder Woman

Wow, this costume is wild. This person must have spent so much time developing this from scratch.

Inspector Gadget

How many of these arms actually work, buddy? If anyone loses their wallet at Comic-Con this year, you know who to point fingers at.

Pennywise

Wow, just look at the size of that head. This person must have gotten cranium implants just to make this cosplay work out.

Harley Quinn

The 80s design of Harley Quinn is totally dominant over the modern design. If you need more convincing, just look at this picture one more time.

Elsa

I’m getting shivers just looking at this costume. This person absolutely nailed it!

Scooby-Doo and the Gang

There’s nothing quite like getting all your friends together and making a group costume. Great job gang!

Elastagirl

The Incredibles 2 was a fantastic movie, and this costume is living proof of that fact.

Iron Man

Legend has it, this person got his heart removed just to make this costume as realistic as possible!

An Unlikely Duo

People complain about the overuse of CGI in the last season of Game of Thrones, but NOBODY is complaining about this.

Ace Ventura

I had to do a double-take to see if this was actually Jim Carrey. We think this person stole the actual props from the movie for this costume.

Mad Max

This is another great example of disabled folks making the best of their situation. The keyword here is MAKING.

Toy Soldier

This green army man was executed perfectly, but how does he get off of his platform?

Deadpool in Drag

This is a classic Deadpool move, points for personality. Although, walking around in those heels all day must be punishing.

Summer

WOW! This is terrifying. Really well done, but holy moly this is unsettling.

The Mask

The accuracy of this one is unparalleled. If you listen closely, you can hear La Cucaracha playing through your phone screen.

Mugatu

Is that Will Ferrel? If so, this is a perfect disguise for a celebrity to go out in public and not get messed with.

Bob Ross

Bob Ross will live on, he is painting happy trees and sunsets in our hearts and memories.

The Joker

We think this is the Joker from Arkham Assylum, but we aren’t sure. Either way, this Joker cosplay is chilling.

Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory

Some say that’s an actual golden goose egg, and that person ate enough blueberries to turn indigo.

Little Groot

This is making the best of a “short” situation. Seriously, this cosplay is so cute!

The Night King

Even the lord of darkness and winter needs a vacation every once in a while. Especially to a tropical location.

Iron Pup

Holy moly this is adorable Iron Dog should be your precious pup’s next Halloween costume.

The Scoop Troupe

This is incredibly well done. You should go watch Stranger Things Season 3 right now!

The Terminator

Arnold? Is that you? Don’t you have the entire state of California to govern over?

Pennywise

Sheesh, if you see a red balloon flying alone around you, run as far and as fast as you can.

The Tethered, Us

Watch this movie RIGHT NOW!!!!! If you’ve already seen it, go see it again!!!

Mysterio

The real question here is, how does this guy see out of his helmet? Or breathe??

Scar-Face

This is a costume mashup for the ages. We love this idea and so should you.

Jaffar

I can hear Gilbert Godfried already demanding the recipe for this costume.

Ron Burgandy

Goodnight San Diego! Or, in this case, Los Angeles!

Luke Skywalker

“Luke, you are my father” (This guy was with his kid who cosplayed Darth Vader).
