Legendary Horror Actor Sid Haig Passes Away at 80

It was announced on Instagram early in the morning on September 23rd and legendary horror actor Sid Haig passed away on Saturday, September 21st after being hospitalized for an unspecified accident for two weeks.

Haig’s wife, Susan L. Oberg, posted to his Instagram to announce his death to his fans. “My light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be.”

Haig has been a familiar face in the last few decades. He starred in Night of the Living Dead 3D, Halloween (2007), The Lords of Salem, Bone Tomahawk, The Devil’s Rejects, House of 1,000 Corpses, and even Jackie Brown.

He’s had a creative and colorful career and was easily a crowd favorite.

Director Rob Zombie and Haig had been very close friends, making them a dynamic duo in the horror community.

Zombie wrote on Instagram, “Hooray for Captain Spaulding. Gone but not forgotten.”
