It's a boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy... and now a girl!
Kateri and Jay Schwandt have been parenting fourteen young boys and were ecstatic to discover that they had finally given birth to a baby girl. The devoted Michigan couple had already given birth to Tyler, Zach, Drew, Brandon, Tommy, Vinny, Calvan, Gabe, Wesley, Charlie, Luke, Tucker, Francisco, and Finley. They thought they would never get a little girl...until Maggie Jayne was finally born.
Tyler, the firstborn, and now 28 years old, is happy for his parents to have their dream come true. "My parents were finally blessed with the little girl they never thought they'd end up having. It's been about 12 hours since my dad told us, and I still haven't quite wrapped my mind around it," said the family member.
Maggie was welcomed into the world weighing 7 pounds, 8ounces, and is 20 inches long.
Maggie Jayne is a mixture of both parent's names. Maggie is a nickname for Margaret, which is his mother's middle name. His father's name, Jay, was used in the spelling of Jayne. His wife gave birth at the Mercy Health Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
"This year has been memorable in so many ways, for so many reasons," said Jay, "but Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine."
