"Impaired Driver" Turns Out to Be 5-Year-Old Who Wanted a Lamborghini

When a trooper stopped a vehicle weaving in and out of traffic, he expected to find an "impaired driver" behind the wheel. Instead, the Utah Highway Patrol tweeted that he came face-to-face with a 5-year-old boy in the driver's seat.

The vehicle was driving suspiciously slow and weaved between lanes on the Interstate 15 freeway. The trooper turned on his siren and the driver obediently pulled onto the shoulder. Dashcam footage revealed what happened next.

"You're 5 years old?" asked the trooper. "Wow!"

He inquired where the child learned how to drive and wrote down a few other details. The unidentified minor said that he and his mother had gotten into an argument; she refused to buy him a Lamborghini, so he took off in his parents' car.

"He decided to take the car and go to California to buy one himself," the Utah police tweeted. "He might have been short on the purchase amount as he only had $3 in his wallet."
