Krispy Kreme Is Giving Free Donuts to Anyone with Proof of Vaccination

If you've needed extra incentive to get your COVID-19 jab, Krispy Kreme's latest promotion might be it.

The donut chain announced on Monday that any customers who bring their COVID vaccination card—indicating that they've had at least one shot of the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines—are eligible for a free Original Glazed donut.

The deal began on March 22 and will continue until the end of the year.

"We wanted it to be big enough to sort of catch people's attention and spread awareness," said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme's chief marketing officer. "I think anything anyone can do to help show support for those getting the vaccine is a good thing right now and so we're just trying to do what little we can."

"We all want to get COVID-19 behind us as fast as possible and we want to support everyone doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them," Skena continued.

According to the CDC, over 81 million Americans have received at least one dose of any vaccine. Slightly more than half of that number are fully vaccinated.

President Joe Biden has declared that all American adults will be eligible for the vaccine as of May 1.
