Someone Used a Corpse in an Advertisement for Embalming Fluid…

The Sunnyside was a funeral trade magazine started in the mid-1800s. These magazines were usually a quirky take on the macabre. They also usually advertized hearses, coffins, embalming fluids, clothes, and cosmetics as well. It was virtually a weird magazine for those interested in death and, maybe, funeral directors. Then, things got much creepier. The creator of Bisga embalming fluid put in a weird advertisement… Yep, they used the actual corpse of a man who passed away three days prior. He was dressed dapperly and looked ready for a nite on the town… Except, he was dead. Pretty creepy! This would never fly these days (thank goodness).
