Police Intervene After Teens Make A Sinister Discovery On the Beach

TikTok user @UghHenry had no idea that the plan for a fun video shoot would lead his friends to the scene of a terrible crime. While exploring the beaches off of Seattle's coast, the group stumbled upon what appeared to be the key to an unsolved case...

The Latest Social Media Platform

Typically, TikTok is reserved for funny, lighthearted posts meant to distract the mind from everyday life. Much like the platform Vine, the videos are short and to the point, and have taken the younger demographic by storm. TikTok is responsible for setting many Internet trends, too...

The Digital Age

TikTok has taken over the Internet by storm, especially among teenagers. During quarantine, it has been one of the easiest ways for people to connect with one another from a distance. One day, this group of teens was out on a shoot when they happened upon something shocking in the background of their video...

The Plan For the Shoot

TikTok user @UghHenry had plans to do a beach photoshoot near Seattle with his friends. All was going according to schedule for most of the day. They wandered around by the water, ducked under bridges, and sat on rocks. It felt like the most normal day they'd had since quarantine began...

His Usual Content

The theme of the video was on par with the rest of @UghHenry's content. He was a fan of fun and stylish videos and his friends were always up for entertaining whatever ideas he had. This time, he had no idea that the video he was about to publish would lead to a sinister finding...

Something in the Background

When the group got closer to some abandoned rocks close to the shore, they noticed something out of place. They kept filming just in case they captured something worth playing back later. If only they'd known just how intriguing their video would turn out to be...

Blissfully Unaware

Arguably the most chilling part of the entire video was the fact that the teens had no idea what exactly they were walking into. Authorities reported on the scene later and said they were lucky not to have been traumatized by what they could have seen. What exactly had they stumbled upon?

A Mysterious Suitcase

“Something traumatic happened that changed my life. We found this black suitcase. We were joking that maybe the suitcase would have money…[But] the smell was overwhelming," the TikTok user said. The teens were worried about opening the bag—and for good reason. However, they did do some poking around...

Who Left This Here?

The shoreline seemed like an unusual place to leave a full suitcase. The bag smelled rancid, to make matters more suspicious. This definitely wasn't just a case of lost luggage. Where had it come from?

A Dreary Day

The state of the weather didn't help the fact that things were starting to feel extremely creepy. The hazy Seattle sky seemed even darker than usual as they investigated the scene around them. Something was certainly not right...

Nervous Glances

One of the girls in the group took a long stick and prodded the suitcase until the lid flipped open. At that point, the camera zoomed in on the suitcase and then back out to the girl's face. She was visibly upset and afraid, but the camera kept rolling...

Calling the Police

The smell overwhelmed the group as soon as the suitcase fell open. They knew they couldn't take this any further because they realize they might have stumbled upon a crime scene. They called the police for help...

Waiting For Too Long

In the video, the teens say they waited hours for the police to arrive. That is an unsettling amount of time to wait when you think you might have found human remains in a suitcase. Why did they take so long?

Confirming the Worst

When police arrived, the teens refused to leave. They wanted to know what they'd found, and whether there was any danger nearby. Unfortunately, the police confirmed their suspicions about the contents of the suitcase...

Uncovering a Human Body

The police revealed that the stench coming from the suitcase was in fact due to human remains. They appeared to have been stuffed inside garbage bags and sealed inside the suitcase. Who could do such a thing?

An Open Investigation

At that point, the police told the teens to go home after they'd taken their statements. A crowd had gathered, and everyone was pretty shaken up by the scene. Now they were responsible for opening up a murder investigation...

A Second Suitcase

A detective arrived on the scene, and shortly after doing some investigating, a second suitcase was found offshore. What was happening? Did the small town in Alki, Seattle have a killer on the loose?

The Coroner's Report

The suitcases were sent to Seattle's coroner for an examination. The cause of death and identity of the person has yet to be determined, but whatever happened to them looks pretty grisly. The teens still can't believe a TikTok exploration led them to a crime scene...

This Isn't an Uncommon Occurrence

The Internet is responsible for unearthing all sorts of strange things. Another platform that has revealed some mysterious finds is Google Maps. Many users have reported that they've stumbled upon some odd scenes...

A Glitch in New Baltimore

New Baltimore, a small subset of New York, has only about 3,000 people total. Google Maps captured a viral image of the town that has residents scratching their heads at what could have gone wrong in the algorithm. The buildings have a Matrix-y glitch effect to them and Google can't explain what went wrong with their cameras if anything even went wrong at all...

Japan's Pigeon People

Japan is home to all sorts of characters thanks to the widespread popularity of things like Anime and Manga. However, have you ever seen something like this, people in costumes and masks outside of a convention? If you continue to click down the street past these pigeon people, you'll see that they eerily turn their heads to watch the camera go by...

Nagoro Doll Village in Japan

The village of Nagoro only has a few dozen residents, which means some weird stuff is inevitably bound to happen there. Tsukimi Ayano lived there as a child, and when she moved back as an adult, she made doll likenesses of her entire family. The life-sized figures can be seen from the Google Maps camera, making it a sinister-looking town rather than a sweet homage to past residents...

A Hidden Message in Memphis

This creepy message written on the rooftop of some nondescript Memphis building reads, "Come down and play." Ummmm. Who are they addressing? Aliens?

Weird Lines in the Desert

This unusual pattern in the Gobi Desert was found near China's space program. Its origin has puzzled Internet users for years. Many people believe these are just roads meant to aid in testing various vehicles, but others theorize they have extraterrestrial links...

Disgarded Mannequins in Chile

What's creepier than this? At first glance, it looks like the scene of a crime, but thankfully Google Maps at least filters out that sort of content. This is just a pile of department store mannequins strewn in a dumpster. Still extremely unsettling...

Trementina Base

The Trementina Base is one of the biggest properties owned by the major Scientology Group. They're extremely private in their affairs, and few people gain entrance to Trementina, but the view from above is haunting and almost alien-like. According to practitioners, the base was built to preserve the works and relics of L. Ron Hubbard...

The Red Lake in Iraq

The bright red lake sits in Sadr City, just outside of Baghdad. If you Google the lake now, it has since returned to its original blue-green hue. However, the reason for the red hue is due to runoff from a local slaughterhouse...

An Unfriendly Gathering

This group of people knew when the Google Maps camera would be driving down this deserted road and staged a creepy sort of intervention. How terrifying is this? Luckily nothing actually sinister happened once the camera left...

Pittsburgh's Giant Chicken

The Google Maps car spotted this enormous chicken carcass statue on the corner of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Sampsonia Street. Unfortunately, the chicken is no longer there, but if you Google this address you can still see it until the next round of photos. Maybe there's a turkey across the street...

A Buffalo Herd

This screengrab from Google Maps is amazing. The photo shows a herd of buffalo in their natural habitat with no idea they were being photographed. It's incredible to see nature as it should be, untouched by human intervention...

Guitar-Shaped Eucalyptus Trees

Argentina's Pampas region thrives with Eucalyptus trees, and some skillful farmers planed this patch into the shape of an enormous guitar that can be seen from space. Google Maps really captures some of the most fantastic photos, but only if they're timed right...
