Prince William and Kate Middleton Secretly Welcomed a New Puppy

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge secretly welcomed a new puppy into their Norfolk home.

The latest addition to their clan arrived shortly before the death of their beloved dog, Lupo. The puppy, a black cocker spaniel, was reportedly a gift from James Middleton, the brother of Kate Middleton.

The children—Prince George, 7; Princess Charlotte, 5; and Prince Louis, 2—are said to be smitten with the puppy, who is somewhere around eight months old.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte allegedly helped their mom and dad pick the puppy from a litter.

James shared in an Instagram post this past July that Lupo's sister, Luna, had a litter of six puppies, and while he was sad too see them leave, their "new homes are bursting with love."

The duke and duchess shared the heartbreaking news of Lupo's passing to the Kensington Royal Instagram account in November 2020.

"Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away," they wrote. "He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much."

Lupo had also been a gift from James back in 2011 after Prince William and Kate Middleton's marriage.
