'Rose Rush' Delivery Team Sends Flowers to Widows, Military Wives, and Singles on Valentine's Day

For the last 8 years, Seth Stewart has made it his mission to bring joy to local widows, single women, and military wives in the Spokane area on Valentine's Day.

Every February 14th Seth and his brothers and a few of their friends deliver single red roses to women in the area who have lost their spouses or have a significant other deployed overseas.

Stewart has a running list of the women in the area who he delivers a flower to each year. He also accepts submissions on Facebook from readers who know someone who needs a pick-me-up during this holiday.

They typically deliver around 400-500 roses, however, this year the number has risen to nearly 700.

“Every single year we do this, there are always one or two women who break down sobbing because it means so much to them,” Stewart said.

“One of our deliveries this year was a widow,” Stewart told GNN. “Her husband passed a few years ago. We were instructed to sign the card from her late Husband: ‘Happy Valentine’s day. I love you. –Floyd’.
