Mugshots of A-List Celebs Who Were Caught Red-Handed

Even celebrities aren't above the law. From drug possession to trespassing, these celebrities have interesting stories to tell at the next big party.

Amanda Bynes

Child star Amanda Bynes had a rough go of it in the early 2010s. Her downward spiral began with this mugshot after she fled the scene of an accident with a police officer. He was writing her a ticket and she booked it out of there! They caught up with her, and thus this mugshot was born.

Tabloids went insane over Bynes' public mental breakdown and her "Easter Egg Inspired" hair color. Things only got worse for the child star as she spiraled deeper into a depression. Now, eight-year later, Bynes says that she's happy and healthy with the help of rehab.

Bill Cosby

Everyone's favorite TV dad had his first mugshot much later in life than most, but that's because he was able to get away with his criminal behavior for decades. Nearly 60 women came forward with assault allegations towards the TV star over the years, and it all caught up to him in 2018.

In April of 2018, Cosby was found guilty and convicted of aggravated sexual assault against former Temple University employee Andrea Constand. The 82-year-old was sentenced to three to 10 years in federal prison. Since the case was closed, Cosby has said that it was all a set-up.

Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars was on the road to fame when his 2010 mugshot came out. The rising star was arrested in 2010 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas for drug possession. In 2013, he told an interviewer that it was his first time doing drugs and that he didn't "know where that came from."

"I was really intoxicated," he admitted. "I was really drunk. So a lot of that is a big blur, and I try every day to forget and keep pushing." Mars said that the arrest and everything that followed (including his viral smirking mugshot) was a big learning lesson for him. "It can all be taken away."

Lindsay Lohan

Child stars always seem to have a never-ending slew of run-ins with the law. Linsday Lohan is one of Hollywood's most trouble child actors who just kept getting in trouble. Her very first arrests were in May of 2007 for DUI and July of 2007 for DUI and drug possession.

To this day, over 13 years later, tabloids are still plastering her mug shots on the front page. Instead of new mugshots, they recycle the old ones on anniversaries of her arrests. Luckily, Lohan seems to be doing much better for herself, living in Dubai.

Macaulay Culkin

No one really expected the adorable Home Alone star to have a mugshot, but it happened! He was arrested in 2002 for drug possession when police searched a vehicle that he was occupying. Naturally, celebrity media took this story and ran with it, but Culkin set things straight in 2018.

"Yes, I consumed and imbibed in drugs in my life," he wrote in a 2018 Reddit "Ask Me Anything" session. "Never as bad as people said. It's not really a thing in my life right now. I'm an adult. I like to drink." Tabloids predicted that he was into hard street drugs, which he denied. "The thing that bugged me was tabloids wrapping it all in this weird guise of concern. No, you're trying to (sell) papers."

Mel Gibson

Actor Mel Gibson earned himself a night in jail in 2006 on a "misdemeanor drunken driving" charge along with having an open container of alcohol in his car. Things got worse for the actor when the arresting officer claimed Gibson was spewing anti-Semitic slurs at him.

In a 2016 interview, the disgraced actor claimed that he was recorded illegally during a "nervous breakdown" while he was "loaded and angry and arrested." He also said that his anti-Semitic rant was sold to the press for a profit and to ruin his life. His career hasn't been the same and will most likely never recover.

Nick Nolte

Movie fans were plenty shocked when Nick Nolte's alarming mug shot showed up in the press one morning in 2002. Nolte looked like an absolute mess while sporting this insanely bright Hawaiian shirt. He was arrested under the suspicion of drunk driving, but his story is a bit more complicated than that.

According to him, he took a bit too much of the drug GHB, which is a depressant. "I took GHB prior to going to the gym for a long workout," he wrote, adding, "A strong dose made me feel great, yet I knew I was repeating with GHB the addictive cycle I'd been in before ... I was a mess and driving on the Pacific Coast Highway."

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie knows her angles, that's for sure. The Simple Life co-host and daughter of famed Lionel Richie found herself posing for her mugshot in 2006 for a DUI. She was found driving on the wrong side of a highway.

She was sentenced to four days in jail but ultimately spent two hours. She is now married to Good Charlotte member Joel Madden and has two kids. She has reflected on the drastic mistakes she's made as a young adult and has since grown up.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton had the most sought-after mugshot. The rich socialite was a hardcore partier and the public and press knew that she would get caught for something someday. She was first arrested in 2006 for a DUI. She claimed that she wasn't drunk and was just driving "a little too fast."

Hilton was put on probation, which she violated in 2007. That led to a 45-day stint in jail but only spent a few days. She was arrested once again in 2010 and took a plea deal. Since then, she's grown up and put her party days behind her.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf is another child star who had a lot of ups and downs as he grew up. Oddly enough, he was arrested in 2007 for refusing to leave a Walgreens. According to the report, he was drunk. "I got really wasted ... I wound up celebrating in Walgreens," saying that "drinking and driving is one thing, but drinking and shopping's just as bad."

LaBeouf hasn't exactly recovered from this stint in jail. He's done a lot of other problematic and newsworthy things, but his most recent scandal is his lawsuit with ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs. She claims that he was physically abusive towards her. “I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years,” he said in a statement to the New York Times. “I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt.”

Tiger Woods

Who would have thought that a golf legend would end up with a mugshot and a smudge on his career? He was sent to jail in 2017 after he was found unconscious in a car. Woods had abused prescription drugs at the time of the arrest.

This wasn't Woods' first scandal. Earlier in the decade, he was caught cheating on his wife. It was such big news that even South Park parodied the scandal. Despite all of the drama, his golfing career hasn't been too damaged.

Bill Gates

Bill Gates is one of the most notable men in the world. Not only did he pioneer what computers are today, but he's one of the richest men in history. Funny enough, before all of the fame and glory, he found himself down at the station. His mugshot story isn't as crazy as most people's, though.

In 1977, Bill Gates was taken into the slammer for driving without a license and running a stop sign. A year later, he received three speeding tickets in Seattle. Those tickets didn't dent his fortune though, which is estimated to be in the multi-billions.

A young Frank Sinatra was caught and arrested doing something that's pretty normal by today's standards. In 1938, Sinatra was arrested in Hoboken, New Jersey for "seducing a woman." According to the complaint, Sinatra "did then and there have sexual intercourse with the said complainant, who was then and there a single female of good repute."

Sinatra was released on $1,500 bail but was arrested one month later for the same crime but a different charge: adultery. Apparently, the woman was married. None of these "crimes" would stand up to the law in this generation!
