A town heard cries for help from a place they just couldn’t pinpoint… They knew they needed to get to the bottom of it, but help was thin. They were worried about what was making that noise. Whatever it was, was in distress. But was it dangerous? They were about to find out…
Something Was Wrong
Visitors of the Cultural Center in Araras, Brazil could hear cries from a source that they couldn’t pinpoint. Many told staff at the center what they heard and that they felt that something wasn’t right. They were concerned about what it could be, and whether it could be dangerous… One man decided to handle it himself and put his ear to the ground, where the cries were the loudest…
What Could It Be?
They pinpointed the sound to in the ground, but they couldn’t figure out what it could be. It was getting louder and more stressed. Many locals were speculating what it could be, and if it was dangerous. There was no way that they could tell if this was going to be a threat to their lives or not. The sounds weren’t going away, and they knew that they had to do something.
Calling A Professional
The locals at the cultural center were the ones that were trying to decide what to do. They knew the area and they knew the dangers that lurked, but none of them could figure if this noise was going to be dangerous or not. They ended up calling some professionals who had the tools to do some digging…
Getting Some Insight
They were able to speak to people in the area and discovered that these sounds had been spooking people for about a week. It only took the noises to get extremely loud just for them to question it. They even decided to contact a government body, since this center was government grounds, but they were shocked by the response.
The Officials Response
The cries were getting worse and worse. Everyone was on edge about getting to the bottom of these mysterious noises. A couple of the group members contacted the government, and they were met with dismay. The officials didn’t witness the cries themselves so they didn’t care to investigate. The locals were shocked but quickly realized that they had to do this on their own…
Doing it Themselves
The locals decided to get to work, with or without any official help. They were going to get to the bottom of this and solve the mystery once and for all. They knew that the first step was to start digging at the source of the noise.
Bringing The Big Tools
They enlisted the help of the utility workers down the street to help break into the ground. They had the right power tools to make this a successful investigation, along with a jackhammer. They were able to break the ground and get closer to the cries. That’s when they found the shocking source…
Using Caution
The group of locals were excited to have the assistance of people who actually knew what they were doing since the city officials decided to ignore their plea for help. The utility workers worked carefully with their huge tools in order to not harm or agitate whatever was inside. They used great caution while digging, and it was a great thing that they did.
Getting Even More Confusing
They had dug into the ground for what felt like hours, but they were finally able to get deep enough to find the source of the cries. They cleared the rubble and tried feeling around for the noise. But, the noise stopped…
Was It Nothing?
They couldn’t find anything. Everyone was feeling disheartened. After all of that effort and getting so close, they couldn’t just find nothing. The sounds had stopped, but they all had heard them. Whatever it was still had to be there, right?
A Second Hole
Everyone decided that maybe a second hole in the ground would be best. It could allow more light and more access to whatever was making that noise! This second hole would be closer to the foundation of the cultural center, so it was going to be a trickier task. Everyone agreed that they couldn’t give up.
The Pipe
They were able to open up the ground enough to reveal some piping, but nothing else. That’s when they noticed that the sounds were coming from inside the pipe. This very quickly became a rescue mission, they knew that an animal had somehow gotten into the underground pipe…
Shocking Turn of Events
The workers were able to cut apart portions of the piping to make it more accessible. One man volunteered to reach inside of the dark pipe to bring the creature out of it. He knew it was risky, as they didn’t know what was inside. They were very worried of this being the baby of a mama lurking nearby, ready to pounce. They were worried, but that all melted away when he pulled out the animal by its scruff…
Freedom for the Furbaby
Apparently, suffering in this pipe for nearly a week was a tiny kitten! They were all shocked to pull it from the pipe and immediately went for water and food. That’s when they discovered something even more shocking…
Another One
They realized that there was even more crying in the piping. They reached into another piece and pulled out a second kitten! They must have gotten stuck together. Everyone was so worried about these babies. The attention was immediately put on rescuing them and making sure they get food and water. They weren’t in good shape…
Even More Kittens!
At the end of it all, they ended up pulling out two more kittens, totaling four kitten rescues! Everyone was heartbroken but relieved that they managed to save these babies. They had no idea how they got in there or what they were doing… But they were more so worried about getting them healthy again.
Sigh of Relief
These pipes were tiny, and it was shocking to everyone that these kittens managed to survive in them for a week alone. No food, no water, no sun. These kittens were not in the best shape, but they were breathing and that’s all that mattered.
Where’s Mom?
Now they were wondering… Where was the mom? This pipe was absolutely not big enough for an adult cat. But, how did her babies get stuck? They decided that the mother must have given birth on the roof, and when the babies got more mobile, they wandered into the pipe and ended up getting very, very stuck.
Getting Healthy
The news of the kitten rescue spread around the town very quickly. Everyone was touched by the group’s efforts and that they didn’t give up. Supply and money donations were coming in from all over town for the kittens to get healthy again. The goal was to get these kittens back to 100% health so that they could find new homes.
New Families
One of the rescuers took the babies home to help nurse them back to health. Once that was done, they were adopted out to loving homes who adored their strong furbabies! Everyone was able to breathe a sigh of relief that this ended in the best way possible. Moral of the story: If you hear something, get to the bottom of it!
