Teen Feeds Louisville's Hungry Population with Snack Kits

When Andrew Dunn discovered that several organizations across Louisville lost money and the opportunity to feed hundreds of hungry citizens, he knew he had to step up to the challenge. He decided to start collecting goods for the local Youth Build and Smoketown Summer Camp. His goal is to assure the students of the area that they never have to go without a meal.

"It’s uplifting to me. I always say getting a gift is like the best thing in the world, but giving a gift is way better," said Dunn.

Each snack kit contains five snacks and a water bottle. He currently needs 1,500 more kits to reach his goal, adding to his current status of 500 kits completed. He's also doing some "blitz" fundraising where the community can hopefully help out.

The drive is a subset under the organization of RAK Louiseville (Random Acts of Kindness Louisville).  According to their social media pages, the mission of the Kentucky organization is "flood our city with random acts of kindness and epic acts of service." The Snack Kit Blitz, as Dunn has dubbed it, will be held at The Power Agency parking lot.

Though Snack Kits are the latest from RAK Louisville, the company has also hosted bake sales, food drives, school supply fundraisers, and more events that help out the local community. No matter what's happening in the world, it's always a good time to do some random acts of kindness!
