Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s stunt double looks uncannily similar to himâand that’s because they’re cousins! Tanoai Reed first worked with The Rock on the set of The Scorpion King in 2002 and have been inseparable since.
Good Friends
Harrison Ford understands just how valuable his stunt double, Vic Armstrong, is to his career. Armstrong was instrumental in the making of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. When Ford had to take a break from acting after sustaining an injury, Armstrong had his back, performing for him while he recovered.
Three’s Company
Bruce Willis is seen here photographed with two of his stunt doubles. In Willis’ case, his stunts tended to be on the more dangerous side, so it was often necessary to have more than one stunt double on set in case anyone got injured during the scene.

Will Smith was once called the “most powerful actor in Hollywood” by Newsweek magazine. His stunt double has a higher salary than most due to the fast pace of his movies, like the Bad Boys franchise and Ali.

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi, is seen here sunbathing in her signature gold bikini with her stunt double. Fisher was wearing the garment in the scene where she kills Jabba the Hutt. When asked if she would rather have her double kill him, she said, “No! That's the best time I ever had as an actor. And the only reason to go into acting is if you can kill a giant monster.”

WWE Dave Batista played the beefy and intimidating Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. Finding someone to replicate his ripped figure was difficult, but eventually, they came across Robert de Groot, who looks astonishingly similar to the WWE champion.

Mark Wahlberg’s “shadow” on the set of Transformers: Age of Extinction was stuntman Dan Mast. When asked what the hardest part about maintaining Wahlberg’s physique, Mast said it was difficult to find places to work out during filming. “We were living out of hotels,” said Mast. “And hotel gyms are awful.”

Hugh Jackman’s brother-in-law, Richard Bradshaw, was perfect for the role of Jackman’s stunt double. Bradshaw’s career as a stuntman spans almost three decades and he has appeared in notable films like The Fifth Element, Titanic, and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Jamie Alexander and her Blindspot stunt double, Kylie Furneaux, look like they could be sisters. They’ve been working together for over 10 years.

Elijah Wood may only be 5’5″, but he needed an even shorter person to play Frodo in The Hobbit. Kiran Shan is the world’s shortest stuntman according to Guinness World Records and has appeared in almost 40 films as a stuntman or body double.

Ian McKellen of Lord of the Rings fame is seen here with his two stunt doubles, one of which towers over him by at least two feet. He’s wearing a different boot on one foot so the directors can tell him apart from the others.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Jason Momoa needed two stunt doubles on the set of Aquaman. The 39-year-old actor tends to do his own stunts, but he knew he needed assistance. “I needed help. I’m almost 40 and it’s starting to hurt, so there’s just so many stunts.”

Chris Evans is known for playing Captain America in the Avengers series. He’s pictured here with his stunt double who does all the hand-to-hand combat for him. Can’t scratch that precious face!
Leaving it to the Professionals
Danny Trejo is seen here with his stunt double on the set of Machete Kills in 2013. Trejo said in an interview that doing your own stunts is nothing more than a show of bravado: “If they get hurt, I’m sorry to say but they just need to put a mustache on another Mexican and we can keep going. But if I get hurt, everybody’s out of a job. So I don’t choose to do that.”
Getting Revenge
While filming a fight scene in Escape from New York (1981), Kurt Russell’s stunt double Dick Warlock was facing off in the ring against a real wrestler named Ox. He ended up being beaten to the point where he couldn’t do the master shot. In the end, Russell had to do his own stunts and admitting to hitting Ox a little harder than necessary.
