August 2019: Horror Movies That We Can’t Wait to See

WOW, 2019 has been a great year for horror films. With many highly anticipated films to come out by the end of the year, we as viewers still crave some good cinema to tide us over. These are our most anticipated films expected to come out this month.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

We get more excited about this movie every day, and on August 9th, it’s finally ours. Andre Ovredal (the Autopsy of Jane Doe) and Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pacific Rim, Hellboy) tasked themselves with recreating this childhood classic to most modern horror fans. The very book that haunted our childhood, personified in the most grotesque, high budget way one could imagine. We’re Excited

Ready or Not

Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Mayhem) is no stranger to the horror drama. She brings charming, yet dynamic attributes to the characters she plays, and this one will not disappoint. A newlywed wife has to live past a long-standing family tradition in order to be officially considered as a family member. The problem, nobody wants her to be part of the family, and they all have guns.

The Fanatic

Yes, that goofy looking dude with the mullet is John Travolta. The king of swing is back, and he’s playing a “less than savory” version of some die-hard Pulp Fiction nerds. The Fanatic follows a superfan of an author and director, who ends up becoming a stalker, and much more.

Don’t Let Go

This movie follows an uncle and his beloved niece. One tragic day, the niece is murdered, but the uncle keeps receiving phone calls from his neice. They conclude that the person calling him is his niece from a different timeline, two weeks in the past. They work together to prevent the murders, but only time will tell who comes out victorious.
