Celebrities Who Have Never Been Married

Getting married and divorced and married again is a habitual stereotype that many celebrities seem to fall into. After all, how many of your favorites have had multiple marriages and divorces? Some celebrities, however, have said no to getting married, whether it's thriving in their singledom or committing for a decades-long relationship without ever tying the knot.

Marisa Tomei

Marisa Tomei is a charismatic, beautiful actor who hasn't been one to settle down. The 55-year-old has never been married, with her most recent public relationship being Logan Marshall-Green. She's dated a lot of popular and powerful men such as Lenny Kravitz, Robert Downey Jr., and Christian Slater.

Tomei has never been married and she plans on keeping it that way. In interviews, she's said it's never been for her and she prefers to keep busy with her work. She'll date some people here and there, but she's living her life completely for herself!

Jon Hamm

Mad Men actor Jon Hamm has had a long line of relationships but none of them stuck. His longest and most notable relationship was with Jennifer Westfeldt. They were together for nearly 20 years until they broke it off.

Now, at 49, Hamm is back on the market. It really doesn't seem like he will be down for marriage any time soon. He's got four or five movies in the works, anyways!

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is the definition of self-made. She grew up in a poor family, struggled to find a job, got fired from her reporting job, and ended up making a name for herself. She had one of the most famous talk-shows ever. So, how has this successful billionaire never been married?

Well, this is sort of a trick quesion. She's actually been with her partner Stedman since the 1980s. Even though they've been together for nearly 40 years, they've decided to never tie the knot. It's a personal choice!

Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn was the heartthrob of the 60s and 70s. She had two kids with her previous partner, Bill Hudson. After they broke up, Hawn entered a passionate romance with her current partner, Kurt Russell.

Even though they've been together for decades, they decided to keep it out of the law. After all, tons of celebs go through public and messy divorces... If they simply break up, then there's no messy divorce for the tabloids to cling on to! Funny enough, they're still together.

Matt Dillon

Matt Dillon has been spotted on dates with multiple high-profile celebs, including Melanie Griffith. He's also known for his quick relationship with Denise Richards and Cameron Diaz. With all of these wonderful leading ladies on his arm, how come he hasn't tied the knot?

Dillon seems to move quickly through relationships. It's almost like he prefers the short flings over staying steady. Rumor has it that he has been dating famous choreographer Roberta Mastromichele for the last five years, which is pretty long for him!

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts has been in blockbuster hits like King KongThe Ring, and The Impossible. At the peak of her career (aka, pre-children) she was constantly booked. It would make sense that she hadn't gotten into a terribly serious relationship... Until she met Liev Schreiber.

Watts and Schriber were together for 11 years. They even had two kids together, Kai and Sasha. They never got married, which was probably a smart thing to do since they broke up. Watts has been with Billy Crudup since 2017, but if their relationship is anything like her previous one, then marriage probably isn't in the future.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue was a pop sensation back in the day. She gave us hits like "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and "The Loco-motion." Despite being pop royalty and every teenage boy's dream girl, she's always stayed single!

Minogue recently came out to announce her relationship with British GQ creative director Paul Solomons. The 52-year-old said of him in an interview, "He's so caring and supportive." Due to a breast cancer diagnosis when she was 36, she was never able to have children. She took the time to focus on herself and her career. Marriage might not be out of the question, but it's too soon to tell with her!

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga, aka Stefani Germanotta, is a force to be reckoned with. She started dating Taylor Kinney in 2011 after they met on the set of one of her music videos. They were together for years and even got engaged!

Sadly, though, they broke up. Gaga admitted that she was in a dark place during the breakup and took a lot of time for herself to get over it. She ended up coming back strong and broke into acting where she had amazing roles in American Horror Story and A Star Is Born. She's currently dating Christian Carino.

Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton stole hearts after her stint on the 1977 blockbuster Annie Hall. Even though everyone, famous and civilian alike, admitted to drooling over her, she liked to keep her romances short and sweet.

Keaton has had plenty of romance stories to tell. After all, her list of suitors includes some very high profile men!  Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, and Keanu Reeves make the list. None of them were good enough for her, and the 74-year-old is still single and thriving.

Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu is a popular Japanese-American actress who has quickly become one of the most popular and well-liked stars in the movie scene. Liu is always moving from one project to the other, but it doesn't seem like having a long-term romantic partner is on her mind.

Even though she's been quiet on the romance side, she's had some interesting romantic history with none other than George Clooney. The two actors were in a very serious relationship but ended up breaking things off. Liu must have decided that she doesn't need anyone because she chose to have a child through a surrogate in 2015.

Coco Chanel

That's right, there was never formally a Mr. Coco Chanel. The fashion designer kept her riches to herself even up until the end. As a multi-millionaire, why would she need a husband?

Back in her day, remaining unmarried was ghastly and confusing to the public. She was asked about her marital status in many interviews, especially why she chose to never get married. She had multiple long-term relationships but she always broke it off. Her answer? "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different."
