Pinhead was considered one of the most terrifying horror movie icons of his time, but the Hellraiser series fell off in the early 2000s when the genre shifted. Now, the demand for Pinhead is higher than it has ever been, and good things are coming soon.
For those who don’t know, the first Hellraiser came out in 1987. The plot is centered around a man who accidentally opens a portal to hell after messing with a puzzle box he found while traveling abroad. When he opened this box, a slew of creatures called Cenobites escaped, the most notable being Pinhead.
The producer of It 2017 (Roy Lee) and Ready Player One (Dan Farah) teamed together to make the most plot accurate TV series while working closely with the original creators of Hellraiser. The streaming platform/channel that the new Hellraiser series will be shown on is unclear, however, we are expecting it to be available via one of the major streaming platforms.
In addition to the reboot TV show, Hellraiser fans should be expecting a Hellraiser I remake, similar to the new Child’s Play, to be coming out sometime between 2020 and 2021. After Pinheads resurgence in the past few years, Hellraiser fans are elated to finally have themselves a promised addition to the series, as progress was frozen out of disinterest for years.
