Self-Isolating Ellen Degeneres in Losing Battle With Jigsaw Puzzle

Ellen DeGeneres has been avidly updating her fans on her attempt at completing a 4,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Like many others, DeGeneres is social-distancing at home during the coronavirus outbreak. Unfortunately, her struggles weren't exactly fruitful.

DeGeneres posted five videos to her Instagram account. The first one explained her reasoning for tackling the challenge in the first place.

"Okay, I'm bored. I'm sure everybody is bored. And look at the weather, look at outside. It's pouring down raining. It's not like I can even do anything anyway."

She continued, "So, I remembered I have a 4000-piece puzzle. And this is what I'm going to do to keep busy. And it's going to keep me busy for at least an hour. I haven't done them in a long time, but it shouldn't be that hard."

Sadly, the talk show host gave up on the project relatively quickly. She told fans, as well as her wife-slash-cameraman, Portia de Rossi, that she intended to finish the puzzle: "When I attempt to do something I do it, that's the person I am."

However, by the time the puzzle came to a close, she only counted 3,999 pieces instead of 4,000.

"I don't know about you, but when I get to the end of the puzzle and feel so good and accomplished and there's one missing, it's not fun. So, I'm not going to do it."

Funnily enough, after DeGeneres packed up the puzzle in favor of reading "Moby Dick" instead, she discovered the missing 4,000th piece.
