The Best Horror TV Shows to Binge

Horror TV shows are pretty hard to come by. Most horror stories are made into films since it's easier to explain the narrative that way. There are a few "horror" shows that have cracked the code and have become successful, but it's still a tricky subject. Sitcoms, dramas, and comedies are way more popular than horror when it comes to TV shows, which leaves the horror fanatic constantly searching for the next best movie. Luckily, these shows can supplement that need for horror.

American Horror Story

Obviously, this one is going to be mentioned. It has "horror" right in the name! AHS is a series derived from the mind of Ryan Murphy and makes for a good binge-watching session all year round. Each season is drastically different from the previous one. They've delved into witches, ghosts, cults, and even the end of the world. If that's not horror, then what is? This show is probably the most well-known, but if you haven't seen it yet, we suggest that you hunker down and do it up.

The X-Files

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are basically the faces of TV horror. These two are constantly on the prowl for aliens and ghouls. Not only does this series delve into the paranormal, but they also make great use of conspiracy theories that keep fans engaged.  It ran from 1993 until 2002, so you'll have to keep in mind that the special FX are a bit... off. But, it's worth it! They revamped the show in 2016 and it ran for two more years.

The Walking Dead

Of course, zombies. A good zombie show is hard to come by. If you have an unimaginative director, it can get boring. Luckily, The Walking Dead was working outside of the box and mixed horror with drama perfectly. Don't get too attached to your favorite character though... No one is ever safe.

The Haunting of Hill House

This TV show is one that'll make you jump... The direction is perfect, the script is ideal, and the storyline is emotional and scary. There's nothing to dislike about this show except for how emotional it can get. It's more of reality horror although the paranormal absolutely comes into play. It's mainly about five siblings who grew up in a haunted house, but there's way more to it. The second season will be focusing on a different story with the same scary ideas.
