Sometimes, the only way to experience a beautiful canyon or rainforest is a rickety, scary bridge. Depending on the location, there are tons of pedestrian bridges that are made of just grass and twigs!

On the other hand, there are some uncomfortably long bridges spanning across rivers and lakes that are as impressive as they are scary.

Royal Gorge Bridge, Colorado

For some reason, someone in 1929 decided that this gorge in Colorado needed a long, scary bridge. Although it is stable and safe, that’s still a terrifying distance to drive!
